My treatment uses a rubber mallot, a short flat pry bar, necessary wrenches, etc and a couple bath towels. Primary rule is never fool with the screws inside the hinge pocket. Remove the lower front seat / remove the door upholstery panel/ loosen the door screws slightly/ get in the car / roll the bath towels in 4" wide layers and lay them on the sill / close the door hard enough to make it latch. The towels should create the necessary aligment. If too high or low, readjust the thickness of the towels. Use the rubber mallot on the rear part of the hinge to force it down as far as it can go, while the door sits closed. This realigns the weight bearing situation on the hinge. Tighten door screws / get out and evaluate the closing situation. you can then fine tune the door latch.
